Service access in integrated assemblies

Retained engineering publication. This revision preserves terminology from the earlier service-access standard; current programmes specify the robotic tooling and accepted operating configuration.

Purpose

Consider inspection and replacement work while defining an assembly. Access to a part, the tools required to remove it and the configuration information supplied to the technician are engineering requirements.

Review points

Identify routine inspection locations, removal clearances, handling requirements and the neighboring equipment affected by the task. A maintenance operation should not depend on undocumented knowledge held by the original assembly team.

Retained revision

Revision B consolidates the access-review questions and links the inspection record to the delivered configuration. Later programme instructions may add equipment-specific controls.
