Technical qualification
Supplier planning starts with the component’s role, its interfaces and the evidence needed for acceptance. Identify materials, processes, critical dimensions and the controls used to keep the delivered configuration consistent.
Quality documentation
Maintain traceability between part identifiers, drawings, inspection results and changes. A deviation should be recorded before shipment, with its effect on the agreed requirement made clear.
Inspection and test records should identify the equipment used, its calibration status and the conditions under which the result was obtained.
Interfaces for autonomous production
Define handling geometry, fixture references, machine-readable identifiers and the inspection conditions for each supplied component. Robotic tooling must be able to locate, grip, assemble and verify the part. A change that alters machine access or a measured reference is a configuration change.
Manufacturing and service support
Plan for replacement parts, maintenance information and configuration changes. Notify the programme team when a change affects availability, manufacturing process or the supported operating configuration.
Responsible procurement
Supplier relationships must keep commercial incentives separate from technical acceptance. Declare conflicts of interest, protect confidential information and preserve accurate records of decisions and transactions.
