Record identity

Inspection results should identify the part, drawing revision, relevant process and acceptance criteria. The record should make it possible to connect the result to the supplied component.

Changes and deviations

Document a change in material, manufacturing process or inspection method before the affected equipment is shipped. A deviation record explains the requirement involved and the decision made by the responsible programme group.

Supporting evidence

Retain measurement conditions, instrument identity and calibration status alongside the result. Quality documentation is part of the delivered configuration, not a separate summary of intent.
